Magic Circle FX - Godot 4 Shader Pack

One shader, thousands of magic circles. A single, deeply tunable Godot 4 shader draws layered magic circles: concentric rings, orbiting runes, radial spokes, a central polygon or star sigil, a swirling energy vortex and a rotating radar sweep. Turn each layer up, down or off and the same material becomes an arcane ring, a summoning star, a sci-fi HUD reticle, a rune wheel, an elemental vortex or something brand new.

It ships with 6 ready-made preset scenes to start from, and everything animates on its own. Tween activation from 0 to 1 to summon a circle in and out.

What you can tune

• Rings - count, radius, spacing, dashed detail, or break the outer ring into sci-fi arcs.
• Runes - count, radius, ticks or fat blocks, plus radial spokes and marching glyph dots.
• Sigil - none, a regular polygon (triangle to nonagon) or a star (pentagram and beyond), any size, rotating.
• Core - a swirling energy vortex, a rotating radar sweep, and a soft central glow.
• Colors and animation - three colours, glow, line thickness, spin speed and direction, and the summon animation.

Quick start (drag and drop)

Copy the shaders/ and scenes/ folders in. Instance a preset (arcane, summon, tech, rune, elemental, or the blank magic_circle) over your caster, resize it, and tweak the values in the Inspector. It stays round at any size on its own. To summon it in, tween the material's activation from 0 to 1.

Compatibility

Godot 4.x, tested on 4.7. Works in Forward+, Mobile and Compatibility renderers. Pure shader code, tiny download, no dependencies, no external assets.
